Role Introduction

Moseley Road Baths CIO is a community-led charity responsible for one of the most extraordinary historic swimming baths in the country. Opened in 1907 and located in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, the Baths are a Grade II listed heritage asset and have continuously provided public swimming for more than a century. Following a determined community campaign and a fully funded £35.7 million capital restoration programme now underway, Moseley Road Baths will reopen in late 2028 as a joyful centre for swimming, wellbeing, heritage, arts and community life, physically connected for the first time to the neighbouring library.

The Chief Executive Officer will be the first CEO of the organisation, joining at a pivotal moment as co-client of the capital project and leading the establishment of the future operating organisation. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and citizen-led governance structures, the CEO will build and lead a new team, deliver the business plan, ensure financial sustainability and champion Moseley Road Baths locally, nationally and internationally. The successful candidate will be an inspiring, collaborative leader, strategic and entrepreneurial, comfortable with financial management and fundraising, and deeply committed to community leadership and inclusive practice.
