Role Introduction

Lead an award-winning charity that is bringing the power of cinema to NHS patients and families across the UK.

MediCinema is a pioneering national charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing and quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. For more than 25 years, we have created accessible cinemas within hospitals, providing comfort, connection and escape for people facing some of life's most challenging circumstances. Recently recognised with BAFTA's Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award, MediCinema is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development.

Working with NHS hospital partners across England, Scotland and Wales, we build on-site cinemas bringing services that reduce stress, anxiety and isolation, helping patients and families maintain a sense of normality during their time in hospital. With ambitious expansion plans, including new sites and a vision to establish a MediCinema in every NHS region, we are well placed to increase our reach and impact in the years ahead.

We are now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next chapter. Reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, drive sustainable growth, strengthen key partnerships and ensure MediCinema continues to deliver transformative experiences for patients and families across the UK.

We are looking for an inspiring and values-driven leader with a strong track record of executive leadership, excellent strategic and financial judgement, and the ability to build influential relationships across the healthcare, charitable and corporate sectors. Most importantly, they will share our commitment to improving lives and champion the values of Care, Connect and Create that sit at the heart of MediCinema.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a distinctive and nationally recognised charity with a powerful mission, an ambitious vision for the future and the potential to make a lasting difference to thousands of people every year.
