Role Introduction

UCLPartners is an internationally leading health innovation organisation, founded by NHS and university partners to improve health outcomes, enhance the effectiveness of healthcare systems and drive economic growth. Operating as a non-profit company, UCLPartners works at the intersection of the NHS, academia, industry, philanthropy and the investment community, delivering high-impact programmes across invention, innovation and transformation. As the formal health innovation partner for North and East London NHS organisations and part of the national network of Health Innovation Networks, UCLPartners plays a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare. With an ambitious programme of growth and development, it is well positioned to accelerate innovation adoption, strengthen its world-class ecosystem and deliver impact across the UK and beyond.

We are seeking two exceptional Independent Non-Executive Directors to join the Board at an exciting stage in the organisation’s development. Working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and fellow Board members, the successful candidates will contribute to the development of strategy, provide constructive challenge and assurance, support effective governance and risk management, and help extend the organisation’s national and international influence. We are particularly interested in individuals with board-level experience gained in technology, life sciences, philanthropy, investment, the charitable sector, patient and public representative organisations, or government and policy. Candidates will bring outstanding communication and influencing skills, strong personal values, a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and a passion for advancing health innovation for public benefit. Experience of operating as a non-executive director and the ability to contribute effectively within complex partnerships will be highly valued.

This is a remunerated appointment with a time commitment of approximately one day per month. The Board meets quarterly, alongside a small number of partnership events and an annual Board away day. Appointments are for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of reappointment for a further term. Remuneration is £10,000 per annum.
